Mariah is a 1-2 year old female Hound Cross. She was found as a stray, wandering the streets, before being picked up by a local family who took her to the vets to check for a microchip. Sadly, but not shockingly, Mariah didn’t have a chip and therefore there was no way to identify where she’d come from.

She was taken to the local dog pound where she will be cared for until she finds a new forever home. Mariah is absolutely gorgeous. Her markings, her eyes and her character are all lovely and she is going to make a very sweet companion in the right home.

Mariah is estimated to be around 18 months old and weighs 25kg, measuring approximately 72cm to the top of her head. Mariah is very friendly towards people and adores being the centre of attention. She is very affectionate, playful and trusting, and we would say that she is more of a people’s dog than a dog’s dog.

Whilst she is friendly with the other shelter dogs and joins pack walks without issue, we don’t think that she was particularly well socialised with other dogs in her past and is therefore a bit suspicious of them. Generally, Mariah seems to be more accepting of male dogs than females. With females she will give a little warning growl to communicate she’s not comfortable, but this behaviour has never escalated past this.

Mariah is a very active dog and would love an energetic lifestyle with a family who enjoy the outdoors. She could definitely keep up with a busy pace of life and would love any opportunity to explore. Ideally Mariah would like a semi-rural home with access to a secure garden.

She would probably prefer to be the only dog in the household, but her family should continue her socialisation with other dogs. She is probably too bouncy to be homed with cats, and should be homed with children aged 9+. Mariah is currently based in Cyprus and has a clean bill of health. She is ready to travel once she finds her forever home.
