Debuting for the 2022 model year as Mazda’s first all-electric vehicle, the MX-30 crossover is back for 2023. Just like last year, the MX-30 EV is only available in California. The MX-30 is a carryover from its first iteration with a nominal price bump.

Positioned as a car designed for urban driving, the MX-30 has an EPA-estimated range of a mere 100 miles on a full charge generated from its 35.5 kWh battery. The standard front-mounted electric motor produces 143 horsepower and 200 pounds-feet of torque.

A unique feature of MX-30 is the “freestyle” doors, which when the front doors are opened reveal a latch to access the rear doors and allow entry to the back seats.
