Snows Motor Group is stepping up its charity fundraising efforts with a week of Halloween-inspired activities.

Staff from Snows offices and dealerships across the South West will be baking treats, carving pumpkins and even scaling a mountain to boost Snows Mission 60 initiative, which aims to mark the firm’s 60th year in business by raising £60,000 for local charities.

The Snows Pumpkin Carving Contest will take place at Snows Seat dealership, in Southampton, with competitors from the Snows head office and Snows dealerships including Seat, Toyota, Volvo, Fiat, Abarth and Jeep.

At Snows Accident Repair Centre (SARC), in Millbrook, the team are holding a Bake Sale and an in-house lunch for staff for a small contribution to Mission 60.

Sharon Gammage, Montana Johnstone, Jordan Bartlett, Aaron Widdicombe and Joanne Letts from Snows Toyota Plymouth will be climbing 886-metre Pen Y Fan, the highest peak in the Brecon Beacons in Wales.

Letts, Snows’ commercial vehicle manager, said: “This is the first time tackling a mountain for most of us and it will be a real challenge. But we have a have a flag to hold at the top and we are really looking forward to the climb and to raising as much as we can for Mission 60.”

The group has already raised more than £21,000 for charity, this year, as part of its Mission 60 fund-raising drive.

Snows colleagues have taken part in events including an abseil at the Spinnaker Tower, the Shipwrights Way Cycle, piloting a pedalo down the Thames, Cycle 60 at Goodwood Motor Circuit and a skydive.

A gruelling 106K non-stop walk around the Isle of Wight has been the biggest event so far, raising almost £7,000. And large sums have also been raised through a 10km London West Tough Mudder and a charity football match at AFC Totton.

Olivia Snow, Customer Experience Manager at Snows said: “Mission 60 is a year-long fundraiser involving the whole company and raising money for Second Chance Animal Rescue, Jeremiah’s Journey, Children’s Hospice South West, Naomi House & Jacksplace, Rowans Hospice and Wessex Cancer Trust.

“It’s great that some of our teams have decided to use the added impetus of Charity Week to stage their own events – It looks like it’s going to be a busy seven days with some really good sums of money raised.”
